Whitby Abbey

Whitby AbbeyEmma  created a new Discovery Visit for English Heritage that will bring the dramatic ruins of Whitby Abbey to life for schools.

She worked with staff at the site to design an interactive ‘time traveller's trail’ using role play, real and replica objects and the Abbey itself to help children understand the site's exciting and varied thousand-year history.

As well as designing the trail, creating resources and researching and commissioning replica objects, Emma also trained staff at the site to lead the visit with primary and secondary schools, ensuring that the trail could be differentiated for children in Key Stages 1 - 3.
