Survive and Thrive

Survive and Thrive aims to support non-national museums in London to improve their sustainability and capacity to respond to change. Led and supported by the museum development team based at the Museum of London, Survive and Thrive has involved an intensive process of self-assessment, peer review and action planning supported by funding to enable participating museums to implement projects that will deliver real, sustainable change.

Emma has been commissioned to evaluate the process and outcomes of the programme in two stages. An initial report in December 2011 focuses on the self-assessment and peer review process, and a second phase in February and March will examine the success of the funded projects. The evaluation involves a large number of telephone interviews to gather different perspectives from people involved in the process, as well as detailed analysis of the planning and review documentation generated by the museums.
