Eureka!

Emma worked with staff at Eureka!, the award-winning national children's museum in Halifax, on the redevelopment of their flagship All About Me gallery. Emma was involved with the project for two years from September 2011 until August 2013 to ensure that consultation with children, families and teachers was at the heart of the gallery development. She acted as a 'critical friend' to the team and led consultation workshops with teachers, children and families. This encompassed front-end evaluation to inform the design brief, formative evaluation during the detailed design phase and summative evaluation after the gallery opened in April 2013 to identify whether it has met its objectives and capture any unexpected outcomes. You can listen to a podcast in which Emma describes the approach to consultation on the Eureka website

All About Me has had a fantastic response both from visitors and from professional reviewers, including a very positive review in Musuems Journal.

The gallery was funded by the Wellcome Trust.  Find out more about Eureka! at www.eureka.org.uk
