The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has given initial support to the Holocaust Survivors Friendship Association's bid to establish a Holocaust Heritage and Learning Centre for the north of England at the University of Huddersfield.
HLF recently announced a development grant of £60,000 to enable the Association to research and prepare a funding bid for the £500,000 it will need to create the Centre at Heritage Quay, the University of Huddersfield's new state-of-the-art archive centre.
I've been working with the HSFA for a number of years now and am delighted to have been involved in preparing the bid. There's a lot of hard work ahead but the planned new development will create the first permanent Holocaust memorial and learning centre for the north of England.
You can read the full press release on the HLF's website.
