More HLF success this summer - huge congratulations to the King's Own Border Regiment Museum in Carlisle on their successful bid for £1.43m from the HLF to relocate and transform the museum.
Emma worked on the Activity Plan for the bid with Malton firm PLB Consulting. The museum is currently located in a small, cramped building within the inner bailey of Carlisle Castle where the potential for access to the museum's fantastic collections is severely restricted. The bid was to enable a move to the historic Alma Building in the castle's outer ward which has historic connections to the regiment and will provide bigger and better spaces for collections storage, research, learning, interpretation and events. The Activity Plan development included extensive consultation with stakeholders and target audiences and a detailed three-year Action Plan for learning and engagement.
There's more information about the grant on the HLF website and more about the museum on its own website.
