National Lottery Awards

I'm delighted that the project I'm working on with the Holocaust Survivors Friendship Association project 'Sustaining the Legacy', has been shortlisted in the National Lottery Awards.

We are in the final 49 of over 900 applicants and are one of 7 projects shortlisted nationally in the Heritage category. The winners from each category will be chosen by public vote, and from the 7 category winners an overall winner will be chosen.

Please vote and help the HSFA make the final! You can do so free of charge by visiting www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk and clicking on 'vote', or by calling 0844 836 9697 (calls cost 5p from a BT landline).

The project aims to secure the legacy of Holocaust survivors living in Yorkshire by making filmed testimony and learning resources available on our website, creating a new   and training 30 new volunteers to go into schools and community groups and tell survivors' stories, ensuring their memories and experiences reach the younger generation as survivors themselves are becoming fewer in number. The HSFA is a volunteer-run organisation managed by Holocaust survivors themselves and I'm privileged to be able to work with such a fantastic and dedicated bunch of people. Find out more at www.holocaustlearning.org, or on our Facebook and Twitter pages.  And please vote!
