I'm really pleased to be back working with the brilliant team at Eureka! as Project Evaluator for the brand new Eureka! Mersey development.
Eureka! Mersey is a brand new visitor attraction being created for the Seacombe ferry terminal and Spaceport buildings in Wirral. It brings together Eureka!'s playful, child-centred approach to learning with 21st-century science and discovery centre innovation. The content is being co-created with local children and young people who are working with professional designers, architects and scientists, creating spaces where children and young people aged 8-14 can find out about science and innovation in fun, experience-driven ways. I'm working with the team during 2021 to evaluate the impact of the co-production process for the young people and industry partners, and to test the different exhibits to make sure they do what they're supposed to. Once the new centre opens in 2022, I'll be doing visitor research to find out whether it's meeting its objectives for learning, engagement and economic impact.
This is a really exciting project, especially for someone who can't resist a good interactive exhibit! I worked with Eureka! a few years ago to evaluate the All About Me gallery development in Halifax, and I can't wait to get involved again.
