Eureka! is the award-winning national children's museum in Halifax, West Yorkshire. It's designed for children aged 0 - 11 and their grown-ups and offers a fun family day out based on learning through play.

I worked with Eureka as the Evaluation Consultant for the flagship All About Me gallery which opened in 2013. My role was ensure that consultation and co-creation with children, families and teachers was at the heart of the gallery development and to evaluate the impact of this work both for the gallery and for the people involved. This encompassed front-end evaluation to inform the design brief, formative evaluation during the detailed design phase and summative evaluation after the gallery opened to find out how visitors reacted and what they learned. 

All About Me has had a fantastic response both from visitors and peer reviewers. The team have taken what they learned from the co-production process into their major new capital programme, Eureka! Mersey, a brand new visitor attraction opening in 2021 in the Spaceport building in Wirral. I'm looking forward to working with them again to evaluate the impact of their work.
