Saltaire Collection project evaluation

Saltaire Collection project evaluation

The Saltaire Collection was created by the people of Saltaire to tell the unique story of the World Heritage Site. Saltaire Village is an extraordinarily complete and well-preserved Victorian industrial community created by textile entrepreneur Sir Titus Salt, located on the banks of the River Aire close to his mill that had the capacity to employ 3000 people.

The Collection is managed by the Saltaire World Heritage Education Association, a volunteer-run charity managed by an enthusiastic Board of Trustees. They were recently awarded a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant for the 'Bright Futures' project which will enable them to employ a project manager and develop an options appraisal to identify a suitable location for a publicly accessible venue and exhibition space for the collection. I'm evaluating the NLHF project which includes volunteer development, board development, public engagement and business support.
