Hands On History

Emma worked with the highly regarded learning team at Hull Museum Education to support them in completing an HLF-funded redevelopment of the ground floor of the Hands On History museum.

Emma project managed the redevelopment, supporting the team with developing their ideas, commissioning new interactive exhibits and gallery graphics, and planning the fitout of the space.  The gallery opened on 30 October to an enthusiastic reception from families and local councillors. Hands On History is a popular destination for both families and school groups, and the revamped gallery includes fun hands-on exhibits to help children and adults alike find out about life in Victorian times.  Visit Hands On History from to experience a Victorian classroom, play with authentic toys, touch real Victorian household objects and find out how to discover your Victorian ancestors. But watch out for the rats!

Now the gallery is open Emma is supporting the team with evaluation to find out what visitors think of the changes and identify how the gallery meets Hull's priorities for learning and inclusion.
